The True History of Aldopius Caledonia and the Lost Ciphers and Journals of Lewis Carroll - Book 2: BADGER-NAPPED by Stephen Robbins
In the second of his multi-volume series, Robbins continues his fictional reconstruction of the lost journals and letters of Lewis Carroll, interspersed with the narrative recollections of his badger narrator. Aldopius Caledonia continues the biography of his youthful life focusing on a town hall meeting about his possibly illegal possession of papers taken from a prohibited Humpty burrow and an ominous but unclear message about the Jabberwock which might threaten the village of Droitwich, his home in the Southern Shires. As the meeting reaches a fever pitch, it is interrupted by powerful, mysterious badger, who initiates the concluding action of book two. Robbins skillfully balances the human world of Lewis Carroll, his Wonderland, and Robbins ‘ own expanded creation of Englund, playing with elements of realism, fantasy, and science fiction in his intricate narrative.
This 6” x 9” perfect-bound book of about 250 pages includes pen and ink illustrations and maps drawn by Mark A.
