West River: 100 Poems is the first full length collection of poetry by David R. Solheim. It was first published when he was the North Dakota Statehood Centennial Poet and included selections from the first 20 years of his writing career. The work includes description of working on North Dakota farms in his youth, living in California and Nevada at different times in adulthood, and memories of friends and family members. Originally published by the Northern Plains Ethnic Foundation, the book was re-issued by the BCP in 2007.
